Privacy & cookies
This is a static information website. We do not collect your personal data, we set no cookies, and we run no advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking. We count visits in aggregate so we know which pages are useful. You can read the whole site without accepting anything.
Cookies
The website itself sets no cookies. There is no advertising, no social pixels and no cross-site tracking. Our visitor counting stores nothing on your device and does not use a cookie, a device fingerprint or any identifier that follows you between sites. Because we use no non-essential cookies and store nothing on your device, no consent banner is required under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example __cf_bm) to tell real visitors from bots and protect the site. Strictly necessary cookies of this kind are exempt from consent. They are not used to profile you or to track you across other websites.
What data is processed, and by whom
- Hosting: the site is served by Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, your device's IP address and basic request information are processed transiently by the hosting and content-delivery network in order to deliver and secure the pages. This is handled by Cloudflare as a processor under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Visitor counting: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records a page view with the page address, the referring site, the country, and the browser and device type, then reports those to us only as totals. It sets nothing on your device, builds no profile of you and shares nothing with advertisers. This is the one request a page makes to another address on load.
- Everything else is served from this domain: fonts, artwork, the route map and all images. Loading a page sends your details to no advertiser and no social network.
- No accounts, no forms: there is nothing to sign up for and no form that collects your information.
External links and translation
Some pages link to other websites, such as Visit Lancashire, GOV.UK, Grand Départ GB and Wikimedia. The Translate option in the footer opens this site inside Google Translate. When you follow any external link or use Translate, you leave this site and the other organisation's own privacy policy applies. In the case of Translate, your request is handled by Google under Google's privacy policy.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or store personal data through this website, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf. If UK data protection law applies to any processing described above, you retain your usual rights, and you can contact the relevant processor named above directly.
Changes
We may update this notice as the site develops. Any material change will be reflected here.
